As far as I know legal titles belong to the organisation , How can it be the organisations - when the loan has been repaid by the cong? Isnt that having two bites of the cherry? If the legal title is the Orgs shouldnt they fund the KH/AH in the first place?

Usually a loan when repaid extinguishes any hold/interest of the loan provider and legal ownership is reverted to the borower - so just who is the borrower. There could be an argument made that each individual JW that contributed funds or labour has an interest. But putting that aside, does any elder or exelder know "who has legal ownership of the KH/AH?" And what would happen if a cong wound up and sold its assets (it hasnt happened yet, but it MIGHT) who gets the money???

an army friend of ours says that the armed forces are buzzing with rumours that the government has plans to bring the draft back to the uk very shortly.. at present, over 50% of forces personal have been earmarked for active service in iraq, more than any time since ww2.. first in line for conscription are unemployed males in the 18 - 35 age group.. englishman..
Being in the armed forces myself I am not at all sure that I would want some of the idiots you see at the unemployment centres or just hanging about being trained and having the ability to use automatic weapons, the firepower the weapon's produce is frightful and most people I work with think the same, a small well drilled and equipped unit will defeat a larger rabble any time. As a side point I dont think that it is fair to send people of to fight who have not made the committment to the defence forces willingly and because they are only complying with what the government is trying to do.

Yes now I remember that one - it was an emotive piece with very little substance - hence my forgetting it...
Still all the transcripts are from lower courts and wouldnt be transcribed for the public unless you pay for them to be, an expensive process.

just letting you guys all know that a certain kingdom hall in south australia has a 6ft x 4ft pin-up board that has half of it that is strictly devoted to anything to do with the whole catholic, anglican child abuse scandals...they're particularly gloating over newspaper articles about the possibility of the boston r.c.
church going bankrupt.... also, quote from awake article on child abuse published in the 8/4/99 issue (pages 6-7) makes this accusation about the clergy then quotes a book:.
"in australia a review of the book the battle and the backlash: the child sexual abuse war commented on child abuse by clergymen and others in positions of trust.
And shit they deserve, I just hope that it doesnt become forgotten, lets hope that it has put every mother and father associated with the JW on guard.
Its only a matter of time before a case comes up in Adelaide - I can hardly wait - will be VERY interesting!

Just remembered something that happened in the last few weeks. Was over at my mothers (reg pioneer) and sitting at the kitchen table and was having great delight in telling my step father (elder) the Pete Townsend was found to have accessed and admitted to accessing child porn (he likes the who), anyway some brothers kid, he was about 12 was at the table, and wasobviously able to hear what I said. My step father then thinks it is his 'duty' to chastise my topic of discussion as inappropriate to which I respond with "Oh pleeze" and tell my mother that a child open to and knowledgable about such stuff is less liklely to fall prey, to which she said somethining about how it seems we have to tell them at younger and younger ages... and so I said yeah so they wont be victims... I was quite stunned as 1. My step father doesnt have children (doesnt like them) and never will 2. my mother was a victim of child sexual abuse - amazing. 3. I have a 12yr old and know what is and isnt appropriate!!!
So the motto is .... Keep your kids in the dark and hope for the best and ofcourse not believe anything they say if there wasnt 2 witnesses!!!!! CRAZY
